Tony and Bill Brassfield founded Brassfield Communications in 1977. Brassfield Communications, from its inception, has been engaged in the design, installation and maintenance of low voltage electrical systems. Low voltage systems are used in fire alarms, security, access control and public announcement systems, as well as in many applications within the healthcare and education sectors.

Because these systems are so important, it is critical that they are designed by skilled engineers and installed by experienced technicians. Brassfield Communications is a full systems integrator that has established a distinctive reputation in its industry, thanks to the dedication, ability and integrity of its field personnel and staff.

The Company founders determined that at ages 68 and 71, retirement was becoming an attractive option. They were referred to BCC Capital Partners by their CPA firm.
BCC assisted the Brassfields in evaluating a number of liquidity alternatives, including ESOPs, a sale to management, a sale to outside buyers, and a leveraged recapitalization. After a thorough review, the Brassfield’s determined a sale of their business to an outside, strategic buyer was their preferred alternative, provided that the buyer was committed to growing the business, offering opportunities to its highly skilled employees, and preserving the Company’s excellent reputation in its industry.

BCC conducted a disciplined, well organized process that surfaced a number of prospective buyers. With BCC’s assistance, each of these buyers was carefully screened against the criteria established by the Company founders.

The Brassfield's chose, as the ultimate buyer, a substantial private investment group with strategic interests in the industries served by the Company. This investment group backed a new CEO in the acquisition of the Company at price and structure that exceeded the Sellers’ expectations.
